Explore the history of celtic music and instruments with Linda MacNair on Harp, Arthur MacNair on Irish Whistle, Bruce Golightly on guitar, and Beth Chatham on Bodhran (pronounced "bo'run").

"Highland Regiments of the Seven Years War"


Edward S. Vogler Jr, a living historian with the 77th Regiment of Foote (Montgomery's Highlanders), will provide a brief history of highland soldiers in the employ of the King of England; from the founding of the "Black Watch" constabulary to the three prominent regiments serving in America during the "French and Indian War". Also included: Manual of Arms demonstration, as well as various uniforms worn while on campaign in Western Pennsylvania (1758-1760 and 1763-1764)

"Montgomery's Highland Battalion, the 77th Regiment of Foote.
A Pittsburgh based reenactor's association."


Cpl. Duncan Munro, Pte. Sean MacConnell, and Pte. Ian McKinnan will describe military life in the 1700's. The 77th is always looking for potential "muskets" as well as "camp followers." Those who might wish to "take the king's shilling" should stop by the "recruiting" table.
